A group of 20 holiday makers from the UK have recently launched legal proceedings against their tour operators after falling in whilst on holiday in Ibiza. All 20 holiday makers were travelling as part of the same party and became ill whilst on what they have described as being a “holiday from hell“. Jillian Hajrizi and her extended family, travelled to the Azuline Hotel Mar Amantis on the party island of Ibiza, Spain. Mrs Hajrizi has described how she and her extended family became seriously ill after just a few days of staying at the 3 Star rated hotel. Jillian has stated she came across a number of disturbing holiday sickness signs throughout the duration of her holiday. Jillian came across; waste in the pool, urine in the corridors, glass in her food and raw chicken from the hotel buffet
The family booked the trip via 2 different package holiday providers; Jet2 Holidays and Thomas Cook. The disgruntled holiday makers have stated they have been struck down with food poisoning which has lasted far longer than the 1 week’s duration of their family holiday. Mrs Hajrizi has stated she spent more time visiting the toilet on her holiday than she did on the white beaches of the holiday destination. The whole family experienced common food poisoning symptoms including; dizziness, nausea, severe vomiting and diarrhoea.
A spokesman for Thomas Cook Holidays has said; “Here at Thomas Cook we take the health and safety of our guests as our main priority”. “We carry out regular hygienic audits on all of our hotels and resorts in an attempt to meet industry standards and exceed customer satisfaction”. “As this case is currently part of an going legal case, we are unable to comment on this at the moment”.
